Outdoor and Garden Wedding Venues: Permits and Costs
You can hire NParks spaces at the Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park, or book Gardens by the Bay. Park booking fees start around S$187–S$2,289; a booking is required once an event needs tentage, a sound system or more than 15 people.
A garden or park wedding trades the hotel ballroom’s convenience for greenery, daylight and a far lower venue fee — as long as you plan around the booking rules and the weather. Singapore’s main official options are NParks spaces (the Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park) and Gardens by the Bay. Here are the published fees and the rules that catch couples out, read from the official pages in November 2026.
Where you can marry outdoors
The official, bookable options fall into three families:
- Singapore Botanic Gardens — Burkill Hall, a restored plantation house overlooking the National Orchid Garden, is used for weddings and dinners.
- Fort Canning Park — heritage lawns and houses such as Raffles House, Raffles Garden, Fort Canning Green and the Old Married Soldier’s Quarters.
- Gardens by the Bay — indoor halls (Flower Field Hall, Waterview Room) and the outdoor Silver Leaf space beneath the Supertrees.
NParks also lists solemnisation spaces across these parks; for the ceremony itself, see our guide to solemnisation venues.
What the park venues cost
NParks publishes its rates, and they are a fraction of a ballroom bill. At the Singapore Botanic Gardens (rates inclusive of 9% GST, updated 31 August 2026), Burkill Hall costs S$2,289.00 for the 4-hour minimum, S$572.25 per extra hour, or S$6,409.20 for a full day (8am–10pm).
At Fort Canning Park, fees split into off-peak (Monday–Thursday) and peak (Friday–Sunday):
- Raffles House (air-conditioned indoor plus an outdoor lawn with city-skyline views): S$498.29 off-peak / S$560.59 peak for the 4-hour minimum, or S$1,744 / S$1,962 for a full day.
- Raffles Garden (1,600 sqm, 500 seated), an increasingly popular wedding spot: S$1,962 off-peak / S$2,180 peak.
- Old Married Soldier’s Quarters (available for wedding receptions): S$654 per day, or S$186.87 for a 4-hour minimum (S$46.72 per extra hour).
- Fort Canning Green (11,500 sqm, 500 seated): S$1,090 off-peak / S$1,308 peak.

Official NParks booking fees, read Nov 2026. Peak is Friday–Sunday, off-peak Monday–Thursday.
Gardens by the Bay: per-head packages
Gardens by the Bay prices differently — per guest, with a minimum guaranteed attendance rather than a flat room fee. At Flower Field Hall and the Waterview Room, wedding menus start at S$258+ per person (Chinese), S$268+ (Western) and S$228+ (buffet); all prices are subject to prevailing GST. The minimum guaranteed attendance is 200 guests at Flower Field Hall and 120 at the Waterview Room. The outdoor Silver Leaf space under the Supertrees, overlooking Dragonfly Lake, starts at S$208+ per person (buffet), with a 120-guest minimum. Menus are cooked by your choice of caterer from the Gardens’ curated panel.
When you need an NParks booking
For park spaces, a booking is required once your event needs people to buy tickets, needs set-up such as a tentage or a sound system, or has more than 15 participants — which covers essentially every wedding. Applications must be submitted at least one calendar month before the event.
The lead times and managing agents differ by park:
- Fort Canning Park: booked on a 4-hourly or per-day basis, and all bookings must be made 1 month prior to the event date. Bookings are handled by NParks’ appointed managing agent.
- Singapore Botanic Gardens: the completed application and payment must be submitted at least 8 calendar weeks before the event, within set 4-hour time-blocks (8am–12pm, 1pm–5pm, 6pm–10pm); music is not allowed before 8.30am or after 9.30pm.
You are also responsible for obtaining any other licences the event needs — for example from the Police, SCDF or NEA — at your own cost before you apply, and you must get NParks’ prior written approval if event noise is expected to exceed 65dBA at the venue boundary.
Planning for weather and the rules that bite
Outdoor spaces have no built-in wet-weather cover. Your options are an indoor backup room (Raffles House has an air-conditioned indoor area; Burkill Hall and the Gardens’ halls are indoors) or your own tentage — and bringing tentage is exactly the kind of set-up that triggers an NParks booking and approval. Confirm the venue’s wet-weather and refund policy in writing before you pay, because the rate pages do not publish rain terms.
A few hard rules worth knowing early:
- NParks may reject an application or revoke approval without notice — for instance if the event could cause discomfort to other park users — and in that case the usage fees are forfeited in full.
- At the Botanic Gardens, scattering confetti or flower petals, using loud hailers or public-address systems (except in approved venues), and riding bicycles or using vehicles are not allowed.
- A booking is only confirmed on full payment, and NParks sets the capacity for each space.
Frequently asked questions
How much does an outdoor park wedding venue cost? NParks park spaces range from S$186.87 for a 4-hour slot at Fort Canning’s Old Married Soldier’s Quarters to S$2,289 for a 4-hour booking of Burkill Hall at the Botanic Gardens; Gardens by the Bay charges per head from S$208+.
Do I need a permit to marry in a Singapore park? You need an NParks booking once the event involves ticketing, set-up like tentage or a sound system, or more than 15 people — so yes, in practice. Any other licences (Police, SCDF, NEA) are your responsibility to obtain before applying.
How far ahead must I book? At least one month before at Fort Canning Park, and at least eight calendar weeks before at the Botanic Gardens, with payment submitted with the application.
What happens if it rains? There is no built-in cover outdoors. Use an indoor backup room or book your own tentage, and confirm the venue’s wet-weather and refund terms in writing, as they are not on the rate pages.
Is catering included? No. At NParks venues you arrange your own catering, furniture and logistics; Gardens by the Bay requires you to choose a caterer from its curated panel.
